Room to Heal Appeal
News 21 December 2011
Our community provides a vital lifeline to over seventy people, who suffer the traumatic effects of torture as well as isolation, poverty and the insecurity of the asylum process.
Torture breaks down people’s ability to trust in themselves and other people. Without Room to Heal, many would have lost all hope. Being part of our community makes life meaningful again. As one member said: ‘Coming to Room to Heal, it has changed my life. My life was meaningless over the last five years. Now I have found hope. It was winter and now it is spring.’
We urgently need your help in order to continue our work, so are asking you to support our community with a regular donation. Do it here.
A donation of:
- £10 per month pays for two people to travel to the Room to Heal community to access therapeutic support
- £20 per month pays for lunch for 10 Room to Heal members after a support group
- £50 per month pays for an hours group therapeutic support for 10 torture survivors
- £100 per month pays for two hours of specialist trauma focused therapy for 10 torture survivors
Thank you for your support.
