‘Room to Heal is my family, my home’ Winter Retreat 2012

With November just around the corner and rumors of an arctic wind approaching, ten Room to Heal members braved the rain and the cold as they ventured out to Hazelwood House in Devon for a week-long retreat. Six days were spent hiking, gardening, eating around the fire and watching the sea, but this time around, staying far from the waves!
Despite having to return to the bustle, stress and noise of London, the members were sure of one thing. Some of the peace harvested during the retreat will be brought back here as so well described by a few of the members. “I felt something magical here…The open space, the river flowing; the sound of the birds, the sound of the river. I’m going to take that surrounding with me.”
