Emergency Covid-19 Appeal
Fundraising 20 March 2020
Right now, our community members are facing severe challenges. We need your help to support isolated and vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As some of the most disadvantaged people in the UK, many of our community members are destitute with no cash support, or living hand to mouth on just £5 per day. Poverty, homelessness and poor physical and mental health are very real struggles for them. Many can’t afford to buy enough food to self isolate for long. In the coming days, as the coronavirus outbreak spreads, their experience is likely to get much worse.
We’re doing everything we can to best support our community members during the coronavirus pandemic. In line with government/NHS recommendations, we’ve suspended group therapy and community activities for the safety of our community members. We’re now supporting our members remotely: primarily through one-to-one therapy via phone, together with increased casework support by phone, plus home drop offs/visits to meet members’ practical needs during this very difficult time.
Donate today and help us with our emergency response
Please will you consider helping our community members by donating to our Emergency Appeal? Your support could fund everyday essentials for members during this crisis – like food, toiletries and emergency money – and could help members access our therapeutic support by phone or tablet, giving them vital connection with other people while in isolation.
Your donation will go directly towards funding our work to support all beneficiaries of Room to Heal affected by Coronavirus. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed Room to Heal’s funding requirements for this appeal, your gift will go towards our longer-term community programme of therapeutic, practical and psychosocial support.
Your donations will make a critical difference to these people’s lives. Please support them with whatever you can afford today and help us spead the word about our Emergency Appeal. Thank you for being a vital lifeline for our community members.
