Supporting Mothers in Need
At Room to Heal, with your help, we’re continuing to support refugees and people seeking asylum who’ve survived severe human rights violations. This winter, we urgently need your support to help mothers in need. Your gift, whether large or small, will help make a meaningful impact on their lives.

Help us provide a safe space and valuable support
At Room to Heal, we support refugees and people seeking asylum who’ve survived severe human rights violations. Many of our community members continue to face psychological trauma. New mothers, and those with young children, have told us they’ve struggled to attend therapy due to the challenges of travelling across London with small children and the difficulties of finding appropriate childcare.
In response, this year we’ve launched a new weekly online support group for mothers, so they can attend remotely from their accommodation, and no longer have to worry about travel or lack of suitable childcare.
“We can be in the group and be with our kids at the same time, which we can’t do in other [groups]. I always worry about my kid, so it makes me feel really comfortable. I really like it. It is helpful that it is online.”
We’ve also been running a new family social group where new mothers, their partners and young children can meet up, build safe and supportive new relationships and reduce their extreme isolation.
“I enjoy when we share our stories. When I share my own story, I feel like I belong in the group. Because we are all in the same situation.”
