Capacity and assessment process
Due to the coronavirus crisis there are no assessments taking place, however, we are still taking referrals and will be in contact with those referred and the referrer with updates on our service.
Please note that we are a small organisation with limited resources, and that we offer open-ended, long-term therapeutic support. This means that our capacity is limited and that there is a waiting list to join our therapeutic support groups.
We aim to see all suitable referrals for two initial appointments with one of our therapists within two months from the date of referral (due to the coronavirus this is likely to be longer). This is to establish whether Room to Heal is a suitable environment for the person referred.
If the person referred is suitable and willing to join our therapeutic support groups following the assessment stage, they will be placed on our waiting list to join the groups. Once a space becomes available, we will offer them six individual sessions to prepare to join the group, following which they will become a member of Room to Heal.
At this stage, they will also be able to access our casework support and social activities, but not before they join our groups.
Please note that due to capacity, it may take up to 6 months to join our groups from the point of referral and the coronavirus crisis is likely to extend the period.
