We are recruiting! Casework and Community Manager

Jobs News 13 August 2026

A picture of a garden, we see some colourful bunting with a step ladder beneath. Behind this we see a long bench along a wall, with plants growing up the wall. There is a metal grate high up the wall with gold letters reading 'Room to Heal'. In front of the image are the words 'WE ARE HIRING' in white text on a green text box.

Room to Heal is looking for a Casework and Community Manager to support our members to thrive

About us: Room to Heal is a human rights charity and therapeutic community based in London. We support survivors of torture, trafficking and gross human rights abuses through our three pillars of healing: Group therapy, Casework and Community programmes. We currently run three therapeutic groups, including a specialised psychosocial mother’s group, as well as providing members in therapy with casework support and access to a range of community activities. We have a weekly gathering in a local community garden, fortnightly cooking sessions, trips, therapeutic retreats and an active community forum.

Our community is currently made up of over 100 members from over 30 countries, all of whom are seeking protection in the UK.

Casework and Community Manager: This role supports our crucial non-therapeutic work, facilitating community and helping members to overcome practical barriers to healing through casework management. As Casework and Community Manager you will support one caseworker and volunteers or placement students to provide high-quality casework in housing, welfare benefits, access to health, childcare and entitlements, education and employment, and access to legal advice in immigration and asylum matters. You will also carry a small caseload of your own. In total, the casework team supports around 30 people a year.

Your casework management will sit alongside community management work. This part of your role means facilitating and organising community initiatives such as our weekly community garden gatherings, trips, retreats and community forums. The Casework and Community Manager also updates members through group chats and a monthly newsletter, summarising internal and external activities and opportunities. Co-production and member voice is central to Room to Heal.
